MCMP Successes
We are pleased to share the success that MARC Custom Medical Products (MCMP) achieved during its planned three-year developmental period. We believe that MCMP demonstrates an effective dual-purpose model that addresses both the employment needs of people with a disability while creating a much needed regional (17 county) manufacturing consortium in rural western North Carolina.
MCMP joins nine of MARC’s 14 members to form an innovative and highly collaborative rural manufacturing platform. The only one of its kind in North Carolina, and possibly the nation, MCMP is a social-purpose regional economic development project that is driven by the innovative and collaborative culture of MARC member community rehabilitation programs. The manufacturing cluster created by MCMP targets job creation for people with and without disabilities and other barriers to employment.
The information provided in the table below expresses the outcomes of four core objectives that were identified as success indicators when MCMP was launched in July 2006:
