Community Foundation of Western North Carolina Awards MARC With A People In Need Grant.

The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina has recently awarded the Marketing Association for Rehabilitation Centers, Inc. (MARC) located in Hendersonville, NC a $20,000 People in Need grant to help support the salary and employment costs of hiring a Vice President of Business Growth and Development.

According to Mr. Watts, President and CEO of MARC;  “the 16 member community rehabilitation programs that form the MARC consortium, provide training and jobs for people with a disability or other socio-economic barrier to employment across a 23 county region of western North Carolina. Collectively, MARC members employ a workforce of 1,274 people.  Of this number, nearly 600 are people with a disability or disadvantage.

The goals of the Business Growth and Development position are to provide members with technical expertise and marketing support in order to provide advanced vocational training and jobs in the manufacturing sector across the 23 county region of MARC.  These new jobs will be targeted for people with a disability or other socio-economic disadvantage to employment.

The Marketing Association for Rehabilitation Centers is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit whose purpose is to serve people with disabilities or disadvantage throughout a 23-county region of western North Carolina.
